The client's needs:
- The client was facing a number of challenges from, a complex and inefficient supply chain, which was largely an outcome of multiple mergers over a short period of time.
- The client also needed to address increasing customer and well-known aging population challenges unique to Japan.
The TMX difference
- TMX designed a strategy that consolidated the client’s distribution centre sites, lowering fixed costs as well as creating critical mass to support the introduction of state-of-the-art automation and robotics.
- Additionally, a 3 echelon inventory model was re-engineered to 2 echelons, simplifying flow of product, and enabling rationalisation of service nodes downstream from the distribution centres.
