Asahi's challenges
  • Delivery of a 40,000 pallet Automated Storage & Retrieval System (ASRS)  which was built for 30,000 pallets day one but with expansion capability.
  • Detailed geotechnical investigations on the two preferred sites to ensure the building design could be accommodated.  Through this process one of the two sites was excluded due to the cost to engineer a suitable design solution.
  • Preparation of a generic design option to provide flexibility to Asahi to run the Automation procurement in parallel.
  • Created a Peer Review process to mitigate high risk elements of the project and provide high level of confidence to the Asahi Board.
The TMX difference
  • TMX worked with Asahi and local developers to develop a shortlist of sites that could accommodate the specific requirement.
  • Preparation of a detailed Technical Design Brief that captured Asahi’s bespoke requirements.  Included the specific slab loadings and movement tolerances, power supply and reticulation, high-bay expansion flexibility and detailed office configurations.
  • Following the detailed tender process, assess the suitability of shortlisted sites with two developers invited through to a Best & Final Offer stage.
  • Worked very closely with the ASRS provider (Dematic) through the detailed design and construction phases to ensure a seamless integration between them and the Developer.
